CHILLIWACK RIVER COUPLES SESSION
Sarah & Costa’s Engagement Session at the Chilliwack River
Spring engagement sessions can be unpredictable—but also incredibly rewarding. Sarah and Costa’s photoshoot can attest to that. Take a look at these stunning shots! I met these two after their engagement in late 2020 and could already feel their love and excitement. We planned for an engagement session as soon as we could—in Spring 2021. Springtime in Vancouver is known to welcome rain. As the session neared, we kept an eye on the forecast and low and behold—rain was on its way! But that didn’t stop us. I’m always game to shoot rain or shine (In fact, rain creates a magical mood for engagement shoots!) and so were they. We simply made a change in the location and moved forward. And we were glad that we did. Chilliwack River was the backdrop of their engagement session and we were given a mix of light rain, overcast, and sunshine—it was like three shoots in one! While a hot summer day sounds nice, it creates harsh lighting. I always prefer overcast or sunset shoots. We did this session right before sunset and the lighting was a dream! A priority for Sarah and Costa was having an outdoor location with mountain views and a body of water. Luckily, British Columbia has plenty of locations that check off both of these boxes—and I’ve got plenty of ideas for you if this sounds up your alley as well.
I always encourage couples to bring along props or furry friends to personalize their engagement shoot. Sarah and Costa brought their pup, Juniper, which helped ease the mood and created some fabulous candids. (Thank you, shutter speed.) When it comes to your engagement session, be you, and I’ll handle the rest!
